UTSURA（ウツラ）は、
「ポップという感覚は、日本の中にすでにあったのではないか？」
という問いから始まったアートプロジェクトです。

浮世絵やアメリカン・ポップアートのように、
繰り返しによって成立する表現を、
現代において手描きで再構築しています。

ひとつのモチーフを何度も描く。
しかし、それは印刷された複製ではなく、すべて手描きです。

同じように見えて、同じではない。
そのわずかな差異が積み重なり、
作品は個体でありながら、同時に量産された存在として立ち上がります。

発表と販売について

UTSURAの展示は「見本」です。

展示されている作品そのものは販売されません。
代わりに、その作品と同一の構造を持つものを、
手描きで制作し提供します。

これは複製ではありません。
しかし一点物でもありません。

UTSURAは完成しません。
進行し続けます。

そのため、シリーズの途中段階でも、
作品の制作を申し込むことができます。

これは完成された作品を購入するのではなく、
進行中の構造に参加するという行為です。

UTSURA began with a question:
What if the sense of “pop” had already existed within Japanese visual culture?

Inspired by systems such as ukiyo-e and American Pop Art,
UTSURA re-examines repetition as a form of expression—
but through hand-painted production.

A single motif is painted again and again.
These are not printed reproductions.
Each piece is created by hand.

They may appear identical, but they are never the same.
Subtle differences accumulate,
forming a structure that exists between individuality and multiplicity.

The works presented in UTSURA function as “samples.”

They are not for sale.

Instead, based on these samples,
new works are produced by hand upon request.

This is not a reproduction.
